At Saraswathi Central School, we believe in nurturing leadership skills and fostering a sense of responsibility in our students. To achieve this, we have established a Students' Parliament and Monitor System, which empowers students to actively participate in the school’s functioning and decision-making process.

Students' Parliament:

Formation:

A Students' Council is formed every academic session to promote leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility among students. The council is elected or appointed based on merit, leadership potential and contributions to school life.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Students' Parliament serves as a platform for students to voice their opinions, concerns and ideas. It acts as a link between the Head of School, Teachers and Students, facilitating open communication and fostering a collaborative environment.

The parliament members assist in the organization of school events and activities, working closely with teachers to ensure smooth execution of the school’s event calendar.

They take on leadership roles in organizing cultural, sports and academic events, helping to create a vibrant and engaging school atmosphere.

The parliament acts as a student representation body, ensuring that the needs and concerns of the student body are addressed in a timely and constructive manner.

Sense of Responsibility:

Participation in the Students' Parliament instills a deep sense of ownership and responsibility in students. It encourages them to take an active role in school affairs, promoting teamwork, accountability and a commitment to excellence.

Monitor System:

Class Monitors:

Each class has designated Monitors who assist teachers in maintaining discipline, helping with classroom management and ensuring that day-to-day activities run smoothly. Class monitors are chosen based on their leadership potential and ability to act as role models for their peers.

Duties of Monitors include taking attendance, managing class-related responsibilities and assisting with minor administrative tasks.

Monitors are also responsible for promoting positive behavior and setting an example for their classmates in terms of punctuality, discipline and academic performance.

Objectives of the Student Leadership System:

The primary objective of the Students' Parliament and Monitor System is to ensure that today’s students are well-prepared to become tomorrow’s innovators, leaders and engaged global citizens. Through this system, students are encouraged to:

Develop leadership skills that will help them in their future academic and professional careers.

Take initiative and solve problems by working collaboratively with their peers and teachers.

Cultivate a sense of community and service, understanding the importance of contributing to the welfare of others.

Build confidence, communication skills and decision-making abilities through practical, hands-on experience in school governance.

By fostering leadership opportunities through the Students' Parliament and Monitor System, Saraswathi Central School ensures that its students are well-equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world. This program helps students develop the qualities of responsible citizenship, teamwork and innovation.
