For Students

1. Communication and Homework

All communication regarding school activities, homework schedules and important updates will be conveyed through the student almanac. Students are expected to regularly check and update their almanac for assignments, deadlines and events.

2. Respectful Behavior

Students must maintain discipline and respect in both their speech and behavior within the school premises and during off-site activities such as educational tours, recreational events, bus rides and school-sponsored functions.

Disrespectful behavior, including abuse, threats, assault, or insults toward fellow students, teachers, staff, or any authorized personnel, will not be tolerated.

3. Bullying and Harassment

The school enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying, ragging, verbal or physical assault. Students must not initiate, encourage, or participate in any form of bullying behavior. Any such actions will result in disciplinary measures.

4. Healthy Eating Habits

Junk food and candy are not allowed on the school campus or the bus. Students are encouraged to bring and consume nutritious meals, observing civility and courtesy during meal times. The school promotes healthy eating habits as part of its holistic approach to education.

5. Punctuality and Attendance

Students are expected to be punctual for class, the school bus and in the submission of assignments. Timeliness is a key value that reflects a student's commitment and respect for the learning process.

Students who arrive late or need to leave early for any reason must report to the school office and inform their class teacher to ensure proper documentation.

6. School Behavior Plan

Students are expected to follow the school’s behavior plan, which promotes discipline across the campus and fosters a sense of solidarity with the school community. This includes showing respect for school property, following the uniform policy and abiding by the school's rules at all times.

7. Dress Code and Personal Hygiene

Students must adhere to the prescribed school uniform and ensure that they are well-groomed and neat. Personal hygiene is of utmost importance and students are encouraged to maintain it consistently.

8. Use of Technology

Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets are not permitted on the school premises unless explicitly allowed for educational purposes. Unauthorized use of electronic devices will result in confiscation and disciplinary action.

For Parents

1. Communication with the School

Parents are encouraged to maintain open lines of communication with the school. All formal communication, concerns, or queries should be addressed to the school via saraswathicentral@gmail.com. We aim to maintain a transparent relationship to better support student development.

2. Parental Involvement

Parents are key partners in their child's education. Regular participation in parent-teacher meetings (FCP meetings), progress reviews and school functions is essential. We encourage parents to actively monitor their child’s academic and personal growth, ensuring alignment with school expectations.

3. Timely Submission of Documents

Parents are responsible for the timely submission of any required documents, including medical reports, permission slips, or transfer requests. Requisition letters for Transfer Certificates (TC) must be submitted to the Principal’s office by 31st March of the academic year.

4. Fee Payment

Parents must ensure that all school fees are paid on time, including annual fees, transport fees and other charges. Any outstanding dues may result in restricted access to report cards or transfer certificates.

5. Ensuring Punctuality and Attendance

Parents should reinforce the importance of punctuality and attendance. Absences should be minimized and, where necessary, supported by valid reasons and prior intimation to the school.

6. Health and Well-being

Parents are expected to keep the school informed about their child’s health. If a student has any medical conditions or allergies, the school must be notified and any required medication should be provided.

7. Home-School Collaboration

We strongly encourage a collaborative effort between the school and home. Parents should engage in discussions with their children about school activities, homework and their general well-being, fostering an environment of learning and support both at home and in school.

Consequences of Misconduct

Failure to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the school may result in appropriate disciplinary action, which may include verbal warnings, detention, suspension, or in severe cases, expulsion.

The Disciplinary Committee will review cases of serious misconduct. Parents will be informed and collaborative efforts will be made to resolve behavioral issues in the best interest of the student and the school community.

These guidelines are designed to ensure a harmonious and conducive learning environment at Saraswathi Central School. By following these rules, students can maximize their educational experience while developing the values of discipline, respect and responsibility.
